November

I have a lot of projects going on right now, first of all I'm recording a new Abod album, this time it will contain several remixes of other artists, where they contribute with their voice and lyrics, while I made the music. I just finished remixing the song "Myth" that will be released by Elevated sins, and a "find your way home by Brand new day. Also I'm involved in the Bergvägg project together with Ola Lindström. All this in next year.

Bad kick ? your opinion !

A friend of mine noticed that the kickdrum on "retroboy" sounds a bit too much, due to the decay, this makes subwoofers "flutter".
If you play it on a computer with ex. iTunes and out through external speakers, , to avoid this effect, you have to lower the volume on the player.
Played through headphones "retroboy" sounds perfect, that was what I used when I was mixing it.

Please comment on this "bad kick", and tell me your opinion, what sound system you are using and how it sounds.

The physical cd is now back in stock at CDbaby, and a 2nd shipment is on the way, so I hope Ive covered the demand for it over christmas.

Sorry for the "silence" on this page, have been busy with other things than music, Job, family ,the house etc.

Great news for all who like the sound of a blue ocean dream: a new album will be released shortly, I´ve set the release date to November 30, but it can be out earlier...
I´ve finished mastering 8 new songs, that I´m very pleased with. Unfortunatly, the collaboration with A Different Drum is no longer, so I don´t have a contract. Therefore the physical album will be a low cost CD´r, but the quality of the sound/recordings are top notch. The cd´r will be available through www.cdbaby.com .
The 8 new songs will also be available as downloads via iTunes and nimbit (as mp3, directly from this site) etc.

November

I have decided to release the new songs, as they are finished , on iTunes and a couple of other download services. I will only release 3-4 songs at the time.
It takes iTunes up to 5 weeks before they have encoded etc. and put all info and music up on their site. I will post a message here when I send them the first songs, and when it´s available on iTunes.

I´ve been working on a new flash-based homepage, with a cleaner look etc. no release date for it yet though, but I think everyone will notice when it´s up and running.

The award winning, proffessional photografer Magnus Wennman (aftonbladet.se), is giving a lecture at the Kontrast gallery in Stockolm, Sweden, in November. He will show pictures of a Swedish surfer called Freddie Meadows, and he will use the song "Offshore" from the sea album, as background music theme to a black and white slideshow.

A year passes quickly, and the album has to wait until next year...I´ve felt a lot of stress latly, in getting the album finished,soI think this is the best solution.

It´s christmas time and I´ve decided to put up a free mp3 file on the discography page. It´s a remix of "Sound of the 80´s", enjoy!!
The next album is delayed, and it won´t be out before quartal 1 2007. But don´t lose hope, read the interview with me at electrogarden.com.

This site is at the moment under reconstruction, new colours fonts etc.
I´ve also made some changes to the site so it will be easier to buy the albums.

This is old news , but you can now download all songs from Apples iTunes Musicstore,(except the single cold, wich is a collectors item). The iTunes program works on both PC and Mac computers .

Monica and I saw Depeche Mode in Stockholm 7/7, It was a lovely Swedish summer evening and we had a great time! Depeche made a great concert at Stockholms stadion in front of 30000 people, Both Monica & I thought that Martin Gore´s solo numbers + the new version of Photographic were the highlights of the show.

I´ve been talking to Todd at ADD, and we have decided that there will be a 2nd release on the label, at the end of this year.
The idea is to make a 2 disc cd, with some old songs and remixes on one disc and 8-10 new songs on the 2nd disc. I´ve only got 5 tracks almost finished, so theres a lot of work to do...

22/5 A great review of the latest album was made by Carl Jenkinson from the http://www.hard-wired.org.uk ezine.He gave it 9.5 out of 10 wich is very pleasant reading.

25/4 Well, the updates of this page should have been done months ago, but I´m busy working at my regular job, so the music has come in second place, unfortunatly.
Right now I´m doing some new tracks so don´t worry. I have a plan on how they will be released, but the schedule is not set and it´s not settled with ADD yet. I´m thinking of releasing several short MCD´s, with a maximum of 5 tracks each, instead of an hole album. These MCD´s will only be available in small releases with approx. 200 copies each.

"Musiq Roboter" is a very good example of the Kraftwerk influence creeping in here, but it's melded with a extremely catchy pop song. ABOD has given us a solid third album here!

19/12 A review of "On the road to wisdom", in spanish, from the webzine, www.sonidobscuro.com, has been added to the review page. They gave it 8,5 points out of 10!!

HoHoHo...New songs are in the making, and perhaps will the next album sound different from "otrtw", but we´ll see what happens. I´m upgrading the studio and right now, and I´m thinking of changing from Tracktion to Ableton Live, that will certainly slow things down , due to saving and exporting every file.

17/9 The Remix of Karlbergs song "Kan du se mig" turned out very good, and a lot of A&R people from several Swedish record companies are interested. Karlberg is actually very pleased with this version and he got great response from the A&R´s that gave it a 4, on a scale of 5!
The lyircs for the new album is now up, and the site has been updated.

7/9 I got the E-MU 1820 soundcard yesterday, and after a tricky installation it seems to be working fine.
I´m about to begin remixing a song by Lars Karlberg called "Kan du se mig", ("Can you see me"), all I´ve got to work with are the dry vocals.
I´ve also been thinking of putting up some of the other remix work, as short mp3 clips on the collaboration page.

31/8 The "OTRTW" album is yet only available as pre-order, and it´s currently #88 in ADD´s sales ranking for 2005 (so far).
BTW, My studio just got new soundcard, an E-MU 1820.

8/8 Good news: the Alesis ION synthesizer arrived, delivered by friends from Germany, I´ve tested it the last 2 days and it´s great!!
Bad news: The album is delayed for another month due to ADD´s busy schedule, but it´s worth waiting for.

2/8 The mp3 Sound clips are now up, so listen to the samples from the new album and enjoy :-)

15/7 A pressrelease went out today, to a wide range of newspapers, musicmagazines, internet radiostations etc. The topic is about the single and the upcoming album, the release is distributed by beatwire.com

8/7 "Cold" is now the most downloaded song in two categories at amazon.com. It´s number#1 at the "new wave" and "techno" charts!!

18/5 We are nearing the release of the single "cold", the layout for the cover is finished, I´m experiencing some major drawbacks right now, my computer crashed due to a partition setup on the hard drive, and on top of this it seems like my soundcard also has broken down. Lycky for me I have backups for all the songs on the new album and they are already in the mastering phase.

19/4 The first single from the new album has been picked out ! The name of the song is "cold" the single contains the original version, 2 remixes and one new track that won´t be on the album. They have a pretty busy schedule at ADD right now, and the release of the Abod single, is set to June.

12/4 This site has been updated and redesigned. The forthcoming "On the road to wisdom" album, will also be available through digital distribution (iTunes etc)

27/3 The 12 songs for the album has now been uploaded to the 11th Mastering Studio. Meantime I will be doing some changes on this website.

14/3 A Blue Ocean Dream signs to the U.S label A Different Drum, Yes!, I just signed a record contract, and as stated before, the next album will be released on ADD´s label. The forthcoming album is titled "On the road to wisdom" and will be out before the summer...there is also a single scheduled ahead of the album, but which track of the 12 from the album, is not decided yet, (be patient Jason ;-)

About the album : I´m finishing up the mixes right now, and I´m also making a new version of an old song that only will be on the single. The songs on the album is more uptempo and has a slight more electro/synthpop feel to them.

27/1, I´m finishing up the last tracks for the next cd. I´ve also been contacted concerning record and distribution deals.

23/1 I was contacted by Joe Ramey from A Brand New Day, he wanted me to write some lyrics to one of his songs. So I did and I made 3 different versions 2 with Joe´s original track in the backgrund and 1 ABOD version with new written music. Joe Rameys versions will show up on a compilation CD from BND, and I will try to squeeze my version into the next ABOD album.

6/12 Waiting for Santa?, no not really, just sending some tracks to P3 demo, and Mute, I´ve been asked to participate on a cd compilation with a remix of " the sound of the 80´s", so we´ll just wait and see what happens next.

26/11, Now you can download a small refill under the misc page (follow the refill link).

22/11, I have set up a small "web page" at the swedish demo webcast DemoRadio.se .As soon as I join as a member I will be able to challenge and stream some new songs there.
I didn´t send the new demo, to the P3demo radio show, this is because I´ve made some songs that are even better, so I´m holding the demo on ice. If the next song is accepted for P3demo, it will be the 3rd song this year. You can see the progress on the new album at this page! . I´m also planning for a major rebuilding of the hole abod site.

5/11,Plutonium distribution are now selling the "electric" album in Sweden, at a special price. They are a new distribution company, specializing in alternative synth, electro, EBM etc.

30/10, All about the new album, will be on the musicpage. I will explain how I make the music, were the ideas come from, song titles, cover layout etc. So be sure to follow the steps towards the forthcoming album, updated daily!.

26/10, I just finished a new demo with 3 new songs, the titles are 1.Streets of Monaco 2.On a sunny day, and 3.Computerized. They have more uptempo beats, around 120bpm, but it´s still the typical abod sound from the electric album. I´m sending the demo out to some selected reviewers, e-zines, record companies, P3 demo offcourse etc. I´m also doing lots of sketches right now, and I publish them on the art page.

13/10, A review of "electric", by Niclas Sandén from the e-zine moving hands, has been added to the electric review section.
The new songs tend to be a bit "harder" but the sound is still analogue. I´m wondering if I should release a single this time, and that should be out sometime early next year.

6/9, The updates on this news page, has not been so frequent as they should be. But these are the latest news around the ABOD project. The Refill CD didn´t quite fulfill the expectations, and I´m considering to make a CD-r available from this site, at a low cost instead. The refill cd will unfortunatly be delayed for yet another month.
The "electric" cd can be downloaded from iTunes if you don´t need a physical cd.
The work on the new CD has already begun and if you read earlier news, you probably know I have several new songs ready. The working name on the album is "300 days".
I´m giong to send out a promotion demo to a small number of international record companies for their A/R consideration, in case they are interested...

19/8, On Saturday the 21st , "Hello Japan" will be played on the P3 Demo National radio show, in Sweden. It was quite awhile ago I sent them the demos, kind of slow reaction you might think, but I´m happy they are playing them now, this is the 3rd song from "electric" that are showcased on P3.

29/7, I made 2 Station ID´s, jingle spot´s, for the radio station NEW WAVE RADIO at live365.com, One for promotion of ABOD and the station , and one specially for NWR ( a robot vocoder voice to an electro beat). They have several tracks from "electric" on rotation at NWR. A great review of "electric" was made by Jason Baker at synthpop.net, out of five !! I´ve put it on the review section.

21/7, The electric cd is now available through A Different Drum, and you can hear the track "Take my hand" at live365.com, on slothradio. A new song with the demo title " In the land of the free" is now in the making, it´s a real hit !!

18/7, the guestbook has been removed...Due to a hacker, I decided to delete all links to the guestbook. These kind of things makes me feel sad...I Hope the person/persons who did this will reconsider the means of their act, this way they will never get my or anyone elses respect.

13/7, I have 2 new songs ready for a new album, the kids have the summer off from school, It´s my brothers birthday, and I´m waiting for the new site at hits4all.com to launch. I will put a couple of dance remixes up there for download, I´ve made mixes on "Waterdrops (soundwaves)" and "the sound of the 80´s".

30/6, All my songs are beginning to show up as digital download, from several internet sites, like Apple iTunes etc. A download link has been added from the Music page, to a list of places you can download and buy the music as sound files.

17/6, Electric is back in stock at CDbaby, right now I´m working on the refill cd, it´s going to be
delayed by a month.

10/6, Some bad news: the shipment of new cd´s to cdbaby has failed, the only thing arrived was an empty package, all of you, who have been waiting for your cd, have to wait until next week.

25/5, I´m currently doing a total rebuilding of the entire site, with a new layout etc. I´ve added a "comment" page, under the albums, read what people who bought, or heard the cd´s, think !

On Wednesday 5/5 21:00-23:00 cet, 3 songs got played on the Radio Sjeverozapad, 95.2 FM, at the elektronskizvuk radio show, in Croatia.

7/5, At this moment I´m working on a refill CD for the Reason music appl. Incuding: all the sounds I´ve collected + my favourite sounds from the new album. It will be out in June...(further info under the misc./synthesizer page).

3/4, 20:30: "The sound of the 80´s" were played on the Swedish radio show P3demo. The "electric" CD will soon be available from this site, & several internet musicstores. A pressrelease was sent to the major musicnews sites, (ex. Mi2N.com, musicdish.com, etc.).

I Just made a retro 80´s synthpop hit, listen to it on the music page, it´s called : "the sound of the 80´s".
It has got a kind of disco feel over it, and it retrospects all the records I´ve bought in the early 80´s. I´m thinking of putting it on the album, as a bonus track.

Right now I´m making the last changes on all the tracks, new song efforts etc, before I send the mastertape for duplication.

A Brand new album will be released in the early spring of 2004. This CD is full of pure electronic pop. The album, named "electric", has got 10 new songs including "Hello Japan".
